Starting Anew and Etiquette
Let’s face it, when you are facing the financial situation that requires bankruptcy the choice to do it can far outweigh the long term issues one might be not willing to face. I have had to make that choice. I filed for bankruptcy on November 5th, and yes it bites but the alternative was to continue trying to pay credit cards that were jacking their rates at every turn.
I am in Chapter 7, and yes I will have to give up the Versa but the interest I had originally being paying on it had increased. I was fortunate to have the Burgman fully paid for with title in my hand so I still have transportation. So I will live by my decision is right.
Now with that out of the way, we turn to the hoopla over President Barack Obama’s so called improper bow to the Japanese Prime Minister. Some view the president’s greeting as preposterous, a violation of the office. So he honored him in the traditional way. Folks, wake up!
We are not high and mighty enough to defer such protocols and I am impressed with the president to show we are not high and mighty nation. We are a nation that needs to respect others, not trample over their beliefs. If some still don’t like it, frankly there is opening available in Siberia for those snotty and uppity talking heads who can not admit to their brainwashed viewers that they are wrong.
On Saturday, I took the Burgman out and joined a memorial ride for a fallen Doraville police officer, Hugo Arango who was murdered nearly 5 years ago while working security at a local latino nightspot. We left Doraville and with escort rode to Helen, Georgia where we had an afternoon meal of BBQ and a raffle.
People are still not too sure about the modulators that I have on the Burgman, some blink their headlights at me as others sometimes will pull to the side. It does prove to make one more visible. People who think they are annoying have never had to think about laying a motorcycle down to avoid a crash that would like injury them anyway.
Remember, we are two wheels, no crash cage, just cloth, leather, gloves and a helmet. Hopefully those that do ride the scooter or motorcycle do have good boots to protect the ankle too.
So if you think the modulators are annoying, remember we just want to be seen by that cell talking, text messaging distracted driver so we might get to where we are going and not get hit or hit a car who pulls a fast one.
Have a good day, and please stay safe.
