Exam Done and Tinkering With Software

Posted on August 25, 2007. Filed under: Blogroll |

I needed the rest from working Friday. The shoulder still aching and shooting pain down the length of my arm into my finger tips is pushing my limits at withstanding pain. My mother drove me to my MRI appointment at the Resurgeons located at St. Josephs. I did not get the Open MRI that is advertised so heavily, but original type where you lay down inside the chamber.

During the exam, one is provided a set of headphones in which through the technician will communicate with you. During the process music is played through the headset, the music I listened to was some soft jazz. I did get a chance to snooze during the procedure despite the noise, which at times reminded me of my military service while serving on Navy destroyers. The sonar systems rather loud mimicked the noise made by the MRI so hearing the MRI machine go through its paces reminded me of those days.

The pictures from the MRI appear to have come out well, but the technician would not comment on what he saw or observed so I will have to wait till my appointment on September 5th to hear what the results are and what treatment or treatments I will have to do in order to get the pain the shoulder under control.

Returning home, I set about taking photographs of the property line and fencing that is around the house. Arbor Guard Tree Service will be arriving early on Monday which will surely be an all day job. I time stamped the photographs so if there are any claims made against us (especially by the nut living behind us) for any damage I will have documentation to prove before and after the job.

I did discover that the cranky HP Photosmart Printer Model 475 is being stubborn so after printing out the pictures I tried to reinstall the software but have determined because of ongoing problems with the packaged software that came with the printer I have to uninstall everything and clean out the registry. The Photo printer wants to be the default printer so I have to keep it unplugged.

I had wanted to printout the trip photo’s from Indiana but looks like that will have to wait for now.

Since the pain in the shoulder is controllable by regular pain relievers like Aleve, I have switched to those kinds of pain relief to conserve my prescribed stuff for sleeping at night. I am trying to avoid asking for more pain killers from the doctor because I do not want to become dependent on stronger and stronger meds.

Sunday is coming up and I will have the limited chores that I need to do, but fortunately nothing “heavy” on the schedule. I just need more rest I suppose. Have a great weekend.
