Rain comes and Dodging the Bad Stuff

Sunday and the weather will by early evening getting ugly but the day starts with an overcast cover, gray in appearance. Not a pretty start to the day nevertheless, a day that for me is rather peaceful. After having breakfast, I read the morning paper then set about getting the laundry started. I manage three loads one large and two very small water loads in the quest to keep minimum water use. I reassembled the Oreck air purifiers after cleaning the Truman cells. Though they had both dried overnight, I still had snap, crackle and popping problems on restarting both units. The one I have in the living room shut down and I had to remove and reset the cell again before it worked correctly.

I have wanted to work on my limited Spanish, mainly what I have picked up during the course of working at the cop shop to improve communication skills. Despite the general attitude towards illegal immigrants in general and Spanish speaking people I still try to help whenever I can. Many believe and incorrectly so that immigration has hurt the work force of the United States, but in truth it is these people who risk so much to seek a new life and willing to take jobs that are turned down by others that this country still functions.

I had researched Spanish language lessons and decided to go with the Living Language edition of beginning to intermediate Spanish at my own expense. Since it requires a CD player, I stopped by the Super Wal-Mart Center and purchased one and decided that a quality set of head phones would be needed for listening so with the CD player with phones I bought a Kodak battery charger and AA battery kit. I figure that it is easier to recharge the batteries than buy and add any more to the waste we already have.

After having supper, the weather which I have been watching come in from Alabama is creating havoc in West Georgia and moving as quickly as it is we are soon under tornado warnings. We had mostly moderate gusts of wind and really heavy rain but nothing came out of the warnings. One aspect everyone is hoping for from these downpours is a gradual refill of area lakes and streams while flooding is a concern, I dare anyone to the south in Alabama and Florida to cry foul over any natural increase of water flow. You want water; you will be getting a lot of it in the next few days so enjoy it.

With Monday being an off-day, I am going to be relaxing and of course working on my Spanish.

Hope you have a good week and just enjoy the day as it comes.
