So Begins the Short Week

Posted on June 30, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll |

With Monday starting, I had breakfast then it is off to the cop shop with a stopover at Get Coffee for my morning java jolt. With the coffee cup mount on the Burgman, I can carry a medium coffee sized cup which will carry me through the lunch hour.

Arriving at work, I find that one [...]

Sunday and an Accomplishment

Posted on June 29, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll |

After having a late breakfast, I started the Sunday chores. Laundry topped the list then helping my mother we separated the pork loin that I got from Kroger on Friday into smaller but manageable pieces for freezing. I think I am feeling the effects of my extended bike ride the day before, with my leg [...]

Crossing Paths

Posted on June 28, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll |

I head out early in the Versa to the DeKalb County Georgia Tag Office in Decatur. My chore for this early morning was to get the license plate for the Suzuki Burgman 650 so after breakfast I headed for the tag office. I got there before the opening, actually first in line and was in [...]

Friday Ends Upward

Posted on June 27, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll |

With the weather as it has been since Thursday, I used the Versa instead of the Burgman for the trips to and from work. I was kind of surprised with not getting any rain on Friday afternoon, the hit or miss thunderstorms pretty much missed us.

The one thing that did not miss us and anyone [...]

So We Have a Crazy World What Else is New

Posted on June 25, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll |

The morning was taken up with the news that we had more crude oil than expected, and of course lower usage makes for higher levels of gasoline on hand. That in turn made the oil prices drop and of course helped the whole sale price of gas drop too. I bet this went over really [...]

Time Running Slow Might Be an Energy Thing

Posted on June 24, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll |

I normally wear a 2.5 pound stainless steel timepiece on my wrist, but tonight it is absent. It is a rather special timepiece overall, it carries on the dial face the logo of the police department where I work. Only a certain number were ever made and most went to officers or the employees of [...]

No Relief for the Masses

Posted on June 23, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll |

It is no surprise on Monday to see the markets mostly react with a big yawn as oil prices continued to rise. There were mixed signals from Saudi Arabia so I expected there would be this kind of behavior as market forces decided to have their fun while they can. Congress fed up with high [...]

So What Else To Do

Posted on June 22, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll |

Around 5 AM Sunday, we had a nice rain storm pass through giving us a good soaking. Though a lot of lightning danced around us, the house kept power though the computer’s UPS could be heard compensating for the voltage irregularities. I slept in late; I think I needed the extra rest just from doing [...]

Morning Wet Afternoon Bright

Posted on June 21, 2008. Filed under: Uncategorized |

With the current weather patterns we have there is an ever-present threat of stormy weather with heavy rains. This is of course not conducive to riding the Burgman.
My mother who is still recovering from hip surgery had a hankering for Captain D’s fish so I had to take the Versa for the trip to and [...]

Oil Roulette and So You Want Chickens

Posted on June 20, 2008. Filed under: Blogroll |

With the announcement of a meeting taking place in Saudi Arabia over concerns of oil, and taking place outside of the normal OPEC membership there was some speculation driving up the prices yet again. As the collective concerns about the oil supplies will be addressed it leaves us with some interesting possibilities but will the [...]

    • Finding the Comfort Zone October 20, 2009
So with October coming to an end, one finds the weather wackier than normal. We were hitting the low 30’s in parts of Atlanta where the temperature is not supposed to see past the 50 degree mark.  I am of course not being helped by the radical shift in temperatures with my rheumatoid arthritis kicking into [...]
