Back to the Grind
It has been a while since I have posted. So to catch up, I have been keeping busy with various interests. Since I don’t have a motorcycle anymore; I have taken up computer gaming in a variety of “worlds”.
I have played Star Trek On-Line since its inception and now with it soon going to be a ‘Free to Play” game I sought out other games. I long ago ditched World of Warcraft, and did not want to go back so I found EVE On-Line and Champions with a new game soon to be released called Star Wars: The Old Republic.
I did give the Old Republic a whirl and have found it to be worthwhile. It should do well and with a number of story lines in it the game should be around for a while.
I have been of course getting over problems with kidney stones, the type that do not want to leave voluntarily and that have to be take out by surgery. Not fun and painful to boot.
Of course with the kidney issues came problems with the blood sugar levels that did not want to stay in the comfortable range. Now with a change of medications, things are slowly getting back to normal.
Another issue I had to deal with was problems with my Verizon Cell Phone Service, which became a fiasco. The HTC Incredible that I had at the time started acting up and in short began to fail. Repeated requests for assistance to replace it and even purchasing a new one on my own fell on deaf ears.
Finally I had enough and went to a company owned Verizon store that when told I was paying the early termination fee, suddenly offered to replace the phone for free but with another Incredible but version 2.0. I decided at that moment to cut my losses and after experiencing phone bills from Verizon exceeding $175 a month and not even streaming or being a heavy user; I headed back to AT&T where my normal bill will be $75 month and that’s with the Apple 4S.
So far my billing costs with AT&T are well within the projected costs and the customer service folks are open to talking and even e-mailing if one has a question. If you wanted to send an e-mail to Verizon, lots of luck with that as there is NO e-mail for their customer service. You have to subscribe to their forums and those too are of little help.
As we approach Christmas, the shopping madness has started and it was on a sour note too. In California a women pepper sprayed others in an attempt to get an XBOX and then fled. (She has since turned herself in but refused to answer questions and was released.) Yet despite the evidence, she was not arrested which shows California’s Penal system is broken badly.
I hope when she is finally identified that there will be plenty of civil suits filed for what she did. Seriously, pepper spray can cause asthmatic reactions to be sever enough to cause death.
Well have a good week and shop nicely.
